Employment Type: Part-Time / 20-25 hours per week

Position Summary:

Requiring a unique blend of spiritual gifting in leadership, administration and shepherding, the Welcome Ministry Team Leader is passionate about creating an atmosphere on Sundays where people encounter Jesus from the moment they arrive on campus to the moment they depart.  They accomplish this by recruiting, developing, coaching, and leading Pillars to create a hospitable and welcoming environment, while working tirelessly to create sustainable systems to support Pillars and attendees alike.  Proactive in nature, the Welcome Ministry Team Leader can identify areas of improvement and is motivated to find creative solutions that lead to the successful accomplishment of team and organizational goals.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Systems Creation and Execution:
    • Design and implement administrative and operational systems that enhance the Welcome Ministry's effectiveness
    • Identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate with other ministry leaders to develop creative solutions to enhance the Sunday morning experience
    • Collect and analyze data that assists in the recruitment and retention of Pillars 
  • Ministry Growth & Development:
    • Increase the number of Pillars serving in the Welcome Ministry
    • Identify giftings of Pillars and develop creative opportunities for them to utilize those giftings in support of Welcome Ministry goals
    • Identify and develop Pillars for future leadership opportunities
  • Leadership Development:
    • Build rapport with Team Leaders by meeting with them regularly, coaching them through difficulty, and training them to become more effective ministry leaders
    • Provide vision and then delegate execution of that vision 
  • Sunday Morning Execution: 
    • Be available to answer questions, make decisions, resolve issues, and respond to unanticipated events throughout the course of the morning
  • Pillar Engagement:
    • Engage and equip Pillars so they become disciples who lead others to Encounter God, Make Disciples, and Live on Mission
    • Create opportunities to celebrate and recognize Pillars for their service and commitment

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Owner (member) of Antioch Waco or take necessary steps to become an Owner within 60 days of hire
  • Currently attending or actively seeking to join and/or lead an Antioch Lifegroup
  • Confident leader who purposely drives towards results while constantly problem-solving and engaging the commitment of others
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time
  • Ability to see the "big picture" and be creative in developing detailed plans to see it come to fruition
  • Decision-maker who is focused on implementing practical, timely solutions
  • Able to build rapport and relationships with individuals and groups
  • Able to effectively delegate to others
  • Must possess interpersonal skills both spoken and written
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with confidence and poise
  • A humble lifelong learner that displays the posture of a learner
  • Prior experience serving in Antioch's Welcome Ministry or similar ministry preferred
  • Spiritual gifting of leadership, shepherding, administration and/or hospitality preferred

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position carries supervisory responsibility for Welcome Ministry Pillars (volunteers).

Travel Requirements:

This position may require limited travel requirements for training and professional development opportunities.

Physical and Environmental Demands:

  • Work will consistently be performed in a normal office environment
  • Frequent demands requiring ability to maintain close visual attention
  • Frequent demands requiring prolonged mental concentration
