SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
Partner with youth staff in leading the middle school and high school ministry at Antioch Waco, with the overall goal of creating an environment where students can encounter God, fall in love with Jesus, experience community, be discipled, identify and use their gifts and live on mission. 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works in coordination with the overall goals and objectives of Antioch Waco.
  • Assists other staff members, when needed, to support teamwork and contribute to the successful completion of their objectives and strategies.
  • Basic personal responsibilities: 
    • Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with Jesus through committed time to the Word, worship and prayer.
    • Maintain proper priorities in your home including your spouse and children (if married and/or with children).
    • Faithfull support the ministries of Antioch Waco by maintaining wise stewardship of measures over the resources entrusted to you.
    • Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner to glorify Christ and further the mission and ministry purposes of Antioch Waco (Colossians 3:23-24)
    • Teach the Word of God according to Antioch's doctrinal statement and topical position papers.
ROLE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and Disciple: 
    • Partner with the Youth Pastor in overseeing the discipleship of middle school and high school students 
    • Disciple a group of high school student leaders 
    • Take initiative in building relationships with students, adult leaders, and parents 
    • Help recruit, train, oversee, encourage, and disciple adult leaders (volunteers) 
  • Services and Events: 
    • Help recruit, train/coach, schedule and oversee volunteers 
    • Help lead elements of youth services (Sunday and Wednesday nights weekly) – production/technical, games, announcements, transition to worship, teaching, close a service, ministry time, etc. 
    • Collaborate with Youth Ministry team to plan and run youth events (summer camp, winter retreat, one day events, etc.) 
    • Assist with the set-up, tear-down and other tasks as required 
  • Pastoral Care and Crisis Management: 
    • Pastor parents and families in times of need 
    • Assist in pastoral counseling, student/parent counseling, etc.  
    • Engage and compassionately communicate with families in moments of crisis 
    • Be on call for miscellaneous needs that arise that may need attention (hospital visits, home visits, etc.) 
  • Administrative Assistance: There will likely be some responsibilities that will be divided amongst the Youth Ministry Team based on giftings and capacity in each season. You may be called to assist on such things as: 
    • Maintenance of team and ministry communication platforms 
    • Write and distribute weekly email communication with parents and students 
    • Manage the ministry social media accounts
    • Assist with visitor assimilation and follow-up 
  • Other Duties/Responsibilities: 
    • Attend and actively participate in Movement Staff Meetings (2x/month), Antioch Waco Staff Meetings (1x/month), team meetings (weekly) and other staff gatherings as required 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities of permanent staff. 

MINISTERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ordained, commissioned or licensed
  • Considered to be a religious leader by Antioch Waco
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • A passion and commitment to raise up the next generation 
  • Previous experience in Youth Ministry strongly preferred but not required 
  • Able to effectively lead small and large groups of people 
  • Able to preach, teach, and effectively communicate the Word of God to youth 
  • Able to meet with parents and navigate situations that arise with families   
  • Embraces and operates in the gifts of the Spirit; comfortable with leading youth to do the same 
  • Well-organized with good time management and project management abilities  
  • Possess a high level of initiative and follow-through 
  • Possess the ability to use appropriate judgment, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills  
  • Owner (Member) of Antioch Waco or willing to become and Owner as a condition of employment 
  • Active participation in an Antioch Waco Lifegroup 
  • Graduate of an Antioch Discipleship School or willing to attend within two years of hire
