SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
 The role of the Youth Assistant is to support the implementation and execution of the Youth Ministry vision and operations to cultivate an environment where students can encounter God, fall in love with Jesus, experience community, be discipled, identify and use their gifts and live on mission. This role will assist staff to administratively and pastorally execute youth services and summer specific events.  

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works in coordination with the overall goals and objectives of Antioch Waco.
  • Assists other staff members, when needed, to support teamwork and contribute to the successful completion of their objectives and strategies.
  • Basic personal responsibilities: 
    • Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with Jesus through committed time to the Word, worship and prayer.
    • Maintain proper priorities in your home including your spouse and children (if married and/or with children).
    • Faithfull support the ministries of Antioch Waco by maintaining wise stewardship of measures over the resources entrusted to you.
    • Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner to glorify Christ and further the mission and ministry purposes of Antioch Waco (Colossians 3:23-24)

ROLE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Responsibility: 
  • Assist with the administrative, pastoral, and operational aspects of the Youth Ministry.
  • Help with set up and tear down for youth services.
  • Collaborate with youth staff to plan and implement weekly youth services and activities.
  • Assist Youth Administrator with database management and new student integration process. 
  • Assist with registration and planning processes for various summer events like Youth Camp.
  • Attend and assist in the leadership of special events including Youth Camp and other events alike.   
  • Collaborate with Youth Pastor to plan agendas and content for adult and student leader meetings.
Pastoral Care and Crisis Management:  
  • Serve as additional support for crisis situations with students. 
  • Connect with and encourage students during services and activities.
Volunteer Recruitment: 
  • Build relationships with and recruit volunteers to serve with the Youth Ministry.  
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities of permanent staff. 

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Previous experience in Youth Ministry preferred.
