Position Summary: 
We consider it a privilege and honor to minister to kids.  It's never babysitting; it's truly ministry to children from birth to 5th grade.  We believe that each kid can impact the kingdom of God at their age, and we want to come alongside families to see a passion for Jesus and His purposes released in each kid.  Our paid kids' ministry workers are directly involved in teaching kids the Bible, praying over them, and modeling Christlike character to them.  Our paid kids ministry workers make it possible for entire families to have opportunities to encounter God, disciple others, and learn to live on mission.  We value creating an environment full of fun, joy, hope, and structure so kids have an opportunity to thrive and experience God! 

Principle Responsibilities: 
  • Attend to the care and safety of children
  • Have a positive attitude and set a good example
  • Come prepared to initiate conversations, engage with, and respond to the children in the classroom
  • Follow the schedule and implement the lesson and activities
  • Know and implement Antioch Kids' Ministry (AKM) procedures in the event of an emergency
  • Straighten and clean the classroom before leaving
Required Qualifications: 
  • Be an active participant in the life of a local Bible-believing church.  Active participation includes: 
    • Weekly attendance at a corporate service
    • Regular participation in a Lifegroup/Small group community
  • Minors ONLY: be an active participant in the Youth Ministry at a local Bible-believing church.  Active participation includes: 
    • Regular attendance at Youth Ministry service/classes
    • Regular participation in a Youth Lifegroup/Small group community
    • Receive a positive recommendation from the Youth Ministry leadership at your church
  • Seek to fulfill the greatest commandments in the Bible of loving God and loving others, and commit to growing personally in your walk with the Lord
  • Understand that your personal life will be observed by others, and therefore commit to: 
    • Living in authentic, biblical community (1 John 1:5-10; James 5:16)
    • Biblical conflict resolution and living and working in harmony with others (Phil 2:1-4; Eph 4:2-3; Matt 18:15-20)
    • Walking in the fruit of the spirit as you lead people, looking to their best interest and encouraging their growth in God (Gal 5:22-23)
    • Pursue a life of purity and resist the temptations of sexual immorality (1 Cor 6:18; 1 Tim 3:2)
  • Demonstrate a love and passion for kids
Additional Expectations: 
  • Arrive on time to all scheduled shifts
  • Find a replacement if you need to cancel a shift
  • Avoid use of cell phones or computers except for emergency purposes
  • Respond to shift opportunities in a timely manner (48 hours)
Supervisory Responsibility: 
This position does not have any supervisory responsibility. 

Physical and Environmental Demands: 
  • Frequent demands to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, lift, kneel and physically take care of kids
  • Frequent demands requiring ability to maintain close visual attention
  • Frequent demands requiring prolonged mental concentration
Compensation: $11.00 per hour
